Bungee Jumping in Queenstown New Zealand

This photo is obviously not taken by me, but it is a photo of me, so it sort of counts :) Queenstown, New Zealand is the home of bungee jumping so I figured I should give it a try while I was there. You can see a video of the whole jumping off a ledge experience here.

Daily Travel Photo - Kirishima, Japan

My feet in a hot spring in Kirishima, Japan

The area around Kirishima, Japan in Kagoshima prefecture is geothermally active. Many of the hotels in the area and you can see many rocks and signs along the road covered in sulfur from the steam vents. This pool I found in the middle of the woods off of a path in the forest. I was able to rest my feet in the spring which was the temperature of a hot bath.

Daily Travel Photo - Penang, Malaysia

Old Colonial Building, George Town, Penang, Malaysia

The island of Penang was a British trading port in the 18th and 19th Century. You can still see the old architectural styles in the city as well as a heavy Chinese influence from the Chinese traders who migrated there.

Jane Fonda Was Here

After another 12 hour bus trip, I’ve arrived in Hanoi. It was probably one of the worst bus trips I’ve taken so far. The bus was packed and I got the misfortune of sitting next to a guy who decided to sprawl all over both of the seats.

My cab driver tried to scam me as he took me to my guesthouse.

The weather here is pretty cold for Vietnam. The temperature is getting down to 11C (low 50s Fahrenheit). Most of the locals dress as if it is freezing with scarfs, heavy jackets and heavy hats.

I haven’t had time to see much of Hanoi yet. It seems a bit more dreary than Saigon, but that might just have been arriving at dawn on a Sunday morning. I’m here for two days before going to Ha Long Bay, then returning to Hanoi for a few more days before heading to Laos.

Daily Travel Photo - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Water Buffalo in Angkor, Cambodia

Despite being one of the greatest historical attractions on Earth, there are still many people who live on the grounds of the Angkor temple complex. This water buffalo and adjoining farm was just a few meters away from a temple I was visiting.
