If Hollywood couples aren’t breaking up with each other, they’re making babies! From one pregnant TV star (which I posted yesterday) to the other….Ugly Betty’s older sister, Hilda, also known as Ana Ortiz in real life, is going to be one beautiful expectant mother!
She and husband Noah Lebezon (he of Half-Life band fame, as guitarist) are excited to welcome their very first baby very soon. Her due date is slated sometime July.
The couple has been trying to get pregnant. Last September, Ana has been quoted in interviews saying having kids is what she and her husband talks about all the time.
Would Ana’s pregnancy matter to the series, Ugly Betty? By spring, she would have to be showing and I’m pretty sure they have a few more episodes left to shoot, to end the season. I think we’re going to see more of Ana standing behind tables, or full of close ups instead of body shots.
I wish her and her family well. Congratulations to the parents-to-be!

Just as her character on the freshmen sitcom, Worst Week, is expecting her first child, Erinn Hayes, who is married to construction superintendent Jack Hayes in real life, has announced via People Magazine, that she is also in the family way.
Her real life pregnancy coincides with that of her TV life pregnancy, prompting the actress to comment in jest — “I’m nothing if not an opportunist.”
The Hayes already have a 1½-year-old baby girl named Maggie.

Worst Week, which premiered during the fall, is about one man’s way of wooing his fiancee’s family. It’s a lot similar to the movie, Meet The Parents. I would have stuck with watching it since the characters are actually funny. But the process got pretty tiring for me quickly (I mean, how many more bad lucks can the lead guy get into?), I gave up watching after six episodes I think.
Worst Week is currently on hiatus. But there is also no word as to whether it will progress to a second season.

The National Enquirer reports that Paula is considering getting her very own daytime talk; one that can rival Tyra’s own talk show will have average people as guests.
I can’t even begin to imagine how a talk show with Paula Abdul is going to work out. Isn’t she the one who is incoherent when it comes to speaking her opinion on American Idol? But apparently, studio executives think Paula has the “personal attributes” to make a good host, going with logic that it’s her heart and the way she connects to people that may make her one likely daytime talk TV host.
Well, then…even executives make bad decisions. I really can’t see how this will work with Paula. What about you?

She is a British born and Oxford School educated actress who has appeared on a few BBC mini-series. And David E. Kelley may soon make her a household name across American TV, as he has picked Charity Wakefield to star in this new legal drama series he is making for NBC.
The show is called Legally Mad and Wakefield will play a lawyer who inherits her father’s practice. Her character is described as “easygoing, deadpan funny and disarms with charm.”
The series will also star Jon Seda and Kristin Chenoweth. Filming hasn’t been reported to have started yet, but of the up and coming shows slated for next season, Legally Mad is getting a lot of buzz this early.
I have so much anticipation for this show, in fact.

Is Amanda Woodward, aka Heather Locklear, setting afoot Melrose Place again?
E! is reporting that the actress is being wooed by The CW, which is set to revive the 90’s drama series next season. Casting and auditions have already began and before the holidays, Mark Schwahn (writer of One Tree Hill) has been listed as the show’s main scribe.
Representatives of Locklear have said there is no such offer yet. But I think her people are slowly working on her comeback bid. The recent case dismissal of her DUI arrest last September is a start. Amanda Woodward, aka Heather Locklear, is being groomed to return.
The character has been one of its most formidable people on the show, most recognized for her bitchy, conniving behavior. I’m getting chills just picturing her back.

I had no idea “Little Grey” is already a mom with two kids in real life. She looks so youthful, I thought she’s still in her early 20’s.
But Chyler Leigh, who plays little sister to Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy, is one again expecting to be a mom all over. People Magazine reports she is pregnant with her third child.
Her representatives insist though that Chyler’s pregnancy won’t be written into her character, Lexie.
The actress is 26 years old, married to Nathan West, who is also an actor, and is mom to Noah (5) and Taelyn (2).
On the show, Lexie is paired with Dr. McSteamy, played by Eric Dane.

As most programs are on hiatus this holiday season, I am taking this time to catch up on some programs I’ve missed. I will recommend a few women centered TV shows you and I can indulge in during the holiday break.
I have yet to watch a complete series of Roswell, actually. And if you’re trying to catch up on your viewing, this one is quite short, running at three seasons only.
This series was quite popular among young adults back in 1999 from 2002.
Roswell starred Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, Katherine Heigl (before she became a big earning TV star of Grey’s Anatomy), Brendan Fehr and Majandra Delfino.
It’s a story of three “people” who come from an alien planet and is discovered by a regular high school girl who has promised to keep their secret. They eventually forge friendships, like normal teenagers do, while the “aliens” try to find a way to return home.
The Roswell DVD details are available here .

Caroline In The City ran from 1995 to 1999. I remember that I used to watch this show’s reruns back to back with Mad About You on cable TV.
I hardly remember most of the scenes and stories from this comedy. But I do recall that Caroline works as a cartoonist and that it had the usual storyline — single girl living in New York, finding herself, true love and true friends.
All the more reason for me to kick back with a DVD this holiday — to recapture a show I used to enjoy watching over a decade ago.
The first season DVD was just released last August. You can check the details of it here .

As most programs are on hiatus this holiday season, I am taking this time to catch up on some programs I’ve missed. I will recommend a few women centered TV shows you and I can indulge in during the holiday break.
Ellen, a sitcom which starred Ellen Degeneres as Ellen Morgan, aired from 1994 to 1998. It was a series about a single thirty-something woman coping with the insanities of single-blessedness.
The show had an amazing cast of funny people — Steven Gilborn and Alice Hirson played Ellen’s parents. Joely Fisher, Arye Gross, David Anthony Higgins, Clea Lewis and Jeremy Piven all played Ellen’s friends.
If anything, this was like a female version of Seinfeld.
The show was originally called “These Friends Of Mine” .
In its fourth season, Ellen, the character, came out to the world as a lesbian, much like Ellen, the actor, did. In it’s fifth season, the show’s direction changed and dealt more with Ellen’s life as a lesbian…and thus began its ratings decline, which was pretty sad considering, all biases aside, the show was truly entertaining and funny.
The good thing though is, you can catch up on Ellen through DVDs. Check for the details here.
