Wes Craven’s Last House on the Left

It's only a movie... it's only a movie... it's only a movie...

In 1972, an up and coming director thought he would introduce himself with a film that stretched the realm of real life horror and deprivation. In 1972, Wes Craven, that up and coming director, gave us Last House on the Left, a movie that did just that.

In order to realize your future, you have to know your past.

We have realized the future of Selena and Michael. Now it is the time to know the past of Lucien , a lycan, and the love of his life, Sonja, the vampire daughter of his master Victor.

Some of you might have noticed that I have not posted much lately. It’s not that I have not wanted to; it’s just that life seems to have gotten in the way.

If you are aware at all of my other blog, you would know that Donna, my mother-in-law, was diagnosed in July with non-small cell, stage 3 lung cancer. She also has malignant tumors on her esophagus, and as well, the cancer is in her lymph nodes. Her cancer is inoperable, and it is terminal…

I have two particularly favorite past times, and thought I would combine them for the amusement of… well… myself. It is not something that will be able to be done in one post. And depending on my imagination, it could drag on for months! But it’s a challenge I present to myself, and I am rather anxious to see how it will develop.

Six college kids decide to take a graduation trip to Vegas in daddy’s Escalade. Two of the kids are lesbians, swapping spit in the back seat. Another kid is in a wedding dress, because hey - its Vegas and she wants to shine! The driver, daddy’s boy, is the epitome of frat boy gone bad with poofy hair, spoiled rich kid attitude, and two Polo’s with upturned collars (not one mind you, two.)

Some Movies That Started it All

Recently I posted a review about the Italian horror film Suspiria. That review exposed (in a non gratuitous Boob shot kind of way) how my fetish for horror came to be.

Some of you asked appallingly who would subject me to such things at such a young age, while others began to better understand why I may seem a little “off kilter.”…

Sci-Fi’s “Ice Spiders”

I do so love movies with giant bugs. And I love the SciFi channel, much to my husbands dismay (apparently the channel does nothing to stimulate brain activity. Go figure.)

I especially love when the SciFi channel comes out with an “original” movie that portrays giant bugs in such an unrealistic manner that it transcends comedy and borders hysteria. Like it did with their original movie Ice Spiders.

I so wanted to see The Invisible when it was first released in theaters however being that there is an “us” versus a mere “me” in my life, it’s a joint decision and he wasn’t as intrigued as I.

Needless to say I was not happy to have to wait for this movie to be released on DVD. Yet no matter how many times I have watched it since the DVD release, I experience it for the first time each time, as subtle references and foreshadowing previously missed become exposed……

There are two things I learned while watching Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses:
1. If you wanna see a boob shot of Marilyn Monroe, watch this movie (and don’t tell me it’s a fake photo!! No one would EVER Photoshop Marilyn!)
2. Don’t ever trust some guy in clown paint.

Catchy title, isn’t it? You have to admit, it’s somewhat intriguing (dare I say enticing?) even if the title implies that it will be filled with nothing more than white trash stereotypes. One thing I knew for sure though, and that was that this movie is right up my alley!

For starters, one of the headliners is Trace Adkins. When a country singer stars in a movie with terror in the title, you know it’s game on. Secondly, the synopsis promises zombies (can you give me a redneck yell yee-haw??)
