Encounters With Real Life or What We Did On Our Christmas Vacation

It's been quite a holiday so far. Christmas was quiet for the most part. 2 days later we took a 2 day holiday for some rest and fun in EauClaire, WI. We had reservations at the Plaza Hotel in a room with a whirlpool for 2 nights. It was going to be our belated anniversary getaway (with kids). We were married Dec 16, 2001. Check in time was 3pm so we went to the big mall in town , the Oakwood Mall, first. Jemi wanted to do a little shopping and return an item. We split up, the girls went one way and the guys went another. Josiah and I were looking for swim suits to use in the hotel pool. We finally found some good ones on sale. Josiah was excited about his since he picked them out himself. They were pretty cool looking. I even wanted a pair like them but there were none in adult sizes. Anyway, we were pretty happy about our quick success. There is a play area for kids there where Josiah likes to play so we stopped there. I sat and watched while he played amongst about 30 or 40 other kids. We had been there about 5 or 10 minutes when I turned my head to see if Jemi was heading our way. The next thing I know another parent was getting my attention because Josiah had fallen down and hurt his arm. He was trying to fight back the tears but was obviously in pain. I'm used to him getting bumps and bruises. We have a routine we go through if something happens. "wiggle your fingers", "does that hurt ?", "move your hand", "does that hurt?", "move your arm" ," does that hurt? " If it's just a bump then by the time we get through this routine the tears have been replaced by smiles and a confident "I'm ok now PaPa ! " but this time the pain was for real and it hurt to move anything on his right arm. He is such a tiny guy at 5 years of age. Soon as we could all get together we got him in the van and took him to the local Marshfield clinic where there was urgent care open. It was a Sat so I was doubly thankful for that. He got in right away and got xrays. Sure enough, one of the bones between the elbow and the wrist was broken.

Merry Christmas !

It's Christmas Eve. We went to our churches service tonight to worship the One it's really all about.
There's only one Savior of the World and it's Jesus Christ. Sorry big government, it's not you. Sorry self-proclaimed political messiahs, it's not you. Sorry all you fat cat power brokers who think you control everything, it's not you or your money and power. The One it's all about is the One who created the heavens and the earth and us. He said is was all "good" , but then we spoiled it by deciding we didn't need to listen to Him or take heed to what He told us anymore. All the woes of mankind can be traced directly to that decision. We keep on doing it, every day, for thousands of years now. He knew we would never be able to make it right again on our own. That's why He came Himself. The Awesome God and King of the Universe humbled Himself and came as a little baby, born in a non-descript dirty stable amongst livestock and manure in a tiny little village in the hills of Judea. He was destined to be the sacrificial lamb that would be the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world, for each and every one of us. He was destined to redeem us from the curse we brought on ourselves through our self-centered rebellion against Him and then rise from the dead to reign as the undisputed King of Kings and Lord of Lords Who is coming again to put an end to this rebellion once and for all.
But that night, He lay in the manger as one of us, the one part of creation that He made in His own likeness. Whether you are rich or poor, He came for you. You were in His mind when He came and when He layed down His life "Once for all, the Just for the unjust". Kings of the earth were unaware at the time but lowly shepherds tending their sheep that night were given a heavenly birth announcement like no other.

Luke 2:8 ¶ There were sheepherders camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep.
Luke 2:9 Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified.
Luke 2:10 The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide:
Luke 2:11 A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master.
Luke 2:12 This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:13 ¶ At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises:
Luke 2:14 ¶ Glory to God in the heavenly heights,
Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.

Merry Christmas everyone and may you know the One who came and who still comes to the hearts of any who will receive Him for who He really is. The Savior and Lord of all. Jesus Christ!

Life Lately

It's been very busy around here since the election got over. Jemi decided that she wanted to repaint the kitchen just before Thanksgiving and add a new hood with fan and lights over the range. We were planning a birthday party for our little girl who turned 1 on the 7th of Dec. and she wanted it to be done by then. Once my wife stars on a project that's it. Pretty much everything else , including eating and drinking gets put aside. Then we got a few curve balls thrown at us. I tore something in my right knee and had knee surgery to fix it . We were planning on having Thanksgiving at my parents house with the rest of the family but just a few days before that we got a call saying it was canceled. My mom was feeling pretty bad Jemi said but she just couldn't get everything ready by then. So my thoughtful wife told her not to worry because we would host it here. About this time the kitchen is turned upside down. At first I was stunned. Jemi said she wanted the whole kitchen project finished by Thanksgiving. She began to wonder herself if she had bitten off too much but she called a friend who then came to our aid. The whole kitchen except for the new hood installation got done and everything cleaned up. I was still reattaching the last few cupboard doors when the family started arriving Thanksgiving day. It was amazing . We were really able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving Day feast. We roasted a 25 pound Turkey and had stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans with roasted almonds, Cranberry sauce and a Cranberry /Raspberry jello salad, hot diner rolls, Pumpkin and Pecan pies,fresh fruit salad, and much more. I even got the coffee made. One of my sisters could not make the long drive and we missed her but it was a great time. I feel so blessed !
Since then, another friend came over and helped us install the hood over the range . It involved building a new cabinet for the new hood to be attached to and trying to figure out instructions that were at times very unclear. Somehow it all got done, the wall got filled and smoothed out and painted and by Dec 6th, the day of the birthday party, the kitchen was looking very nice and Jemi added some real special decorations just for our little girl. The kitchen looks so cheerful and festive and is lit up so much better now. We had a wonderful party. Many of our friends came and some brought food to share. We had a lot of Filipino dishes so I decided to make a batch of little smokies in a special sauce for an American touch. All in all we served 27 people that day, including children.
Again, I will say that we are so blessed and I know where the blessings come from. Our Heavenly Father. I call Him PaPa God ! It's taken a couple of days to clean up after all that but we can finally relax for a few minutes. And we are already talking about having more people over.
Well, both of our kids are asleep now so I think I will soon be asleep also.

Post Election

Well, it's been a few weeks now since the election. I have a lot of thoughts but I won't try to put it all down here.

I believe neither of the 2 choices was ideal, but to choose Obama was by far the worst of the two.

It remains to be seen now, if Obama the president will do what Obama the candidate promised for those who voted for him.

My trust in politicians is pretty close to zero right about now.

No matter what the government does though, I will put my trust in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. As a believer in Christ, my allegiance is to Him first and foremost. I will do what is right in His eyes and according to His word. Christians , we had better make up our minds, and set our hearts to abandon our lives to Him now. We know from His word that a time is coming when
we will be hated and hunted by the unbelievers who shake their fists at God.

A Call To Christian Believers On Election Eve

Our nation is hanging in the balance in this election like no other. As a nation, will we go the way of God's righteousness and His blessings or go the way of the unrighteous and the curses that will surely follow. For believers and followers of Christ there is only one way and that is the way of Christ and God's righteousness. There is right and wrong , and choosing one or the other has consequences. Which camp are you in Christian ? Are you in God's camp or have you gone over to the other side, lured by humanistic man-centered doctrines which originate with demons.

1) 50 million innocent babies created in the image of God.......murdered and mutilated since 1973 simply because they weren't wanted by the mother or father. Abortion on demand and for any reason. 50 million babies whose blood was spilled in a demonic sacrifice of selfishness. Thousands every day in this nation alone. Even partial birth abortion where the baby is born alive and out of the womb except for the head only to have the doctor puncture the skull and vacuum the brains out.
The deliberate killing by neglect of babies who survived an abortion and were born alive.

2) Homosexual marriage and special civil rights once used to protect individuals from racial discrimination . Homosexual men leading young boys in Boy Scout Troops. Homosexual lifestyle held up as normal and ok to kids in the public school system by teachers and administrators through books, curriculum and audio visual aides. Homosexuals allowed to have places of leadership and influence in the Christian church even pastoring and preaching and counseling. Discussion among churches about considering allowing homosexuals to have these positions of responsibility in the church and even legitimizing homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle. The stifling of preachers who dare to preach directly from God's own Word that homosexuality is a sin and an abomination. Even laws being proposed to make it illegal for preachers to say that homosexuality is sin in the pulpit of the church.

3) Communities forced through threats and lawsuits to remove Biblical Christmas scenes from public places, even crosses which have always been their tradition. Christian students and teachers suppressed for believing the Biblical account of creation and not allowed to present "Intelligent Design" as a competing theory next to evolution even though many who are highly educated in the sciences believe there are significant holes in the theory of evolution and that Intelligent Design is the most logical answer to why things are the way they are.

4) The suppression of Christian and Conservative free speech on TV and Radio and the Internet.

5) The idea that the Constitution should be changed to include the right of the government to take whatever it wants from the private citizens and to redistribute it to whomever it wishes, including itself. Or that Judges in the Supreme Court should have the ability to subvert the nation's founding documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution with it's Bill of Rights and make laws from the bench, including laws which give the president/government the right to take from you and redistribute to whomever they wish or to ban the preaching and teaching of the gospel of Christ and the Word of God.

Do you believe this is God's will ?

6) The idea that the government is the provider of our liberty and well being and not God and therefore continued and increased dependence upon government to provide for our needs and be more controlling over our lives and essentially taking the place of God in our faith.
Do you call this God's will ?

.....Matt. 6:30 “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!

If you've been promoting the above directly or indirectly then you have defected over to the enemy's camp. You have traded God's righteousness for doctrines of demons. And I urge you to return to the fold of the True Shepherd, Jesus Christ by repenting and rejecting these demonic doctrines and philosophies of men.

What will you do this election ? Because by your vote you will choose which camp you are in.
I'm not talking about political camps. I'm talking about God's camp or the camp of demons bound for Hell. It's righteousness or unrighteousness. It's deciding to vote in alignment with God's will or choosing instead to oppose God to His face by choosing a candidate that you know is against God's will.

Barack Obama is the most pro abortion candidate we have ever had. He wants unrestricted abortion to be the law of the land, even voting several times to defeat a measure that would allow babies who have survived an abortion and are completely born to be cared for with life-sustaining measures. He does not believe that a baby has the right to live at any stage of growth. Yet he keeps quoting the Bible about caring for "the least of these" . ........Liar !!!!

Barack Obama supports homosexual marriage and laws which would force employers and churches to hire homosexuals against their beliefs that it is an abomination and and an unhealthy lifestyle and to make it unlawful for churches to preach the truth about homosexuality. He is against any amendment to the constitution that defines marriage as the union between one man and one woman.

As the most liberal candidate of a party which has consistently been pushing for leftist liberal
laws against religion in general and Christianity specifically, we can expect further restrictions on faith-based organizations and churches who preach the truth as they serve the people. Obama has close ties with socialist anti-Christians and as a US senator has actively supported them in Kenya by going there and campaigning for their man to be the president of that country. That campaign led to the deaths of thousands who had opposed him, including the burning alive of many who sought sanctuary in a church. This is the friend of Barack Obama. What does this say about Obama's deep seeded beliefs, the beliefs we are only now beginning to realize on the eve of this election ? Add to this his long-standing close relationship to his former pastor who preached a different gospel than the one we find in the Bible and often preached hate, bitterness and contempt for those who love this country. This is the man Obama says was such a powerful influence on his life, calling him a mentor. For at least 20 years Obama soaked up this mans teachings both publicly and privately. Only renouncing his racist teachings (at least publicly) when it became a problem during the campaign and then, reluctantly. There's a list of others just like him that Obama called friends. Racists, Jew haters, socialists, anti-Christians, baby killers , cop killers and domestic terrorist. These are a few of those he chose to associate with.If you are born again and living it, does this sound like the kind of man you would choose to lead this nation ?

It's not about the economy this year. It's not about the war in Iraq. It's about making a choice based on what is right in God's eyes. It doesn't mean that John McCain is perfect, but it means that there is a clear choice on which way you want the country to go. The next president will appoint at least 1 and maybe 2 or 3 Supreme Court Justices. Obama will stack the court with activist judges who will make law from the bench based on liberal ideology instead of deciding cases based on the Constitution. This is what the court did in 1973 in Roe vs Wade which opened the floodgates of child sacrifice in this nation. all it takes is a 5 person majority in the court to take it one way or another. John McCain has committed himself to appoint judges who will decide cases based on sound constitutional law. We could finally see the overturning of Roe vs Wade with a shift in the Supreme Court. We could see an end to the carnage of our national sin.
For the next 20 or 30 years the Court will be affecting the culture of this and the next generation.
With a liberal court, a liberal majority in the House and Senate and a liberal president there would be no limit to the damage they will do to the Constitution and our God given liberty.The USA that has been a beacon of freedom and hope for people around the world could cease to be.

For those who have chosen the way of God's righteousness I urge you to pray as you have never prayed before that God's righteousness will once again be established in the hearts of the people of this dear land and that He will preserve our liberty to be a light to the nations for His sake.
Pray and fast also if you are able for this election. Remember God's promises.

Don't worry or be fearful about the economy. Instead , put God's kingdom and His righteousness first. Then God will take care of your needs.

Finally, get out and vote for the candidate who best represents God's will in the above matters.
I believe that candidate is John McCain. If you don't vote then you are part of the problem and will be accountable for not doing something about it.

I have confidence that God can and will turn this thing around, but like Esther of old, He wants to do it through you and I, ordinary people who will call on Him in believing prayer and then act.
If we don't, then we are forfeiting all we hold dear as Christians living in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

A Parable Explaining How The Tax System Works

I saw this parable on another blog and in an email someone sent me. I didn't get it the first time through but suddenly the lights have come on. Read it through a couple of times . Copy and save it on your pc to look at and share with others. It really helped me see that our system is more than fair to the middle and lower income earners. It also demonstrates the complete lunacy of class envy which Obama has encouraged by his tax proposals and the effect they will have on the economy. OK, enough of me. here it is.

Why do the rich get the biggest tax breaks? Is the system unfair?

Here is a short parable, source unknown. You decide!

US Tax System Explained in Beer

Suppose that every day ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing

The fifth would pay $1

The sixth would pay $3

The seventh would pay $7

The eighth would pay $12

The ninth would pay $18

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59

So that is what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. ‘Since you are all such good customers’, he said, ‘I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20′. The drinks for the ten now cost just $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers?

How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share’? They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same proportional amount (rounded off), and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).

The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings)

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings)

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings)

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings)

Each of the six was better off than before and the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

‘I only got a dollar out of the $20′, declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, ‘but he got $10!’.

‘Yeah, that is right’, exclaimed the fifth man. ‘I only saved a dollar too… It is unfair that he got ten times more than I!’.

‘That is true!’ shouted the seventh man. ‘Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!’.

‘Wait a minute’, yelled the first four men in unison. ‘We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!’.

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man (the richest) didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

A while ago I had little contest for the fun of it but also to make a point. Only one person was able to answer the question correctly. Congratulations to Orange Derange.

Though several assumed I was referring to Governor Sarah Palin, I was actually referring to

The description was true for both of them. Interesting I think, in view of the constant criticism and ridicule she gets from people who obviously don't know her very well or don't want us to know her. In my next post I'm going to tell you something about Sarah Palin that the liberal press won't for obvious reasons.

Soon after, he was moved to a hospital where they would help him to adapt to new ways of getting things done. Shots For Our Youngest

No matter how many times we've been through this, starting with our first child, it just never gets easy. I'm talking about shots. Today we took our 9 month old little girl to see the pediatrician. She was her happy self with lots of smiles until the nurse came in to measure her. She did not want to be put on that , well, I"ll call it a bed, in the examination room. From that time on , if she was brought near that bed she started in with the tears. It was pitiful. My heart melts every time I've been through this, while on the outside I"m just trying to comfort her and get her to not notice that they're about to stick 3 to 4 needles in her little legs. Yeah right ! Thankfully , these nurses are fast and well coordinated. Usually I can get her to calm down if she's been crying about something but not this. This one calls for Mama. Only Mama can calm her down and comfort her after this shot trauma. She's sleeping sound now. Thank God and Mama !
