Are You Serious! - Toy Rant
By
Mommie | November 18, 2008

I asked my daughter (6) what she wanted for Christmas. It’s definitely time to start hunting for bargains! She knew what she wanted right away. “I want Biscuit the dog.” Ok, fine, so I put it on her list. I e-mailed a few people and let them know about Biscuit, I had never heard of it but my daughter said it was just a stuffed animal that does tricks. Sounds cool to me. As we were walking through Costco she said “Look mom, that’s Biscuit! That’s the dog I want.” I turn to see a stuffed animal dog with a $150 price tag…ARE YOU SERIOUS!

We are all Star Trek freaks in my family. Coming out May 9th is the long awaited installment showing how Kirk and Spock met. Looks great, though a bit risky for the little ones.
My husband and I will be there opening night, kiddos with a babysitter!!

Gaming With The Fam
By
Mommie | November 15, 2008

My nephews are getting much older now, they are entering their teens. This is a good thing and a bad thing at Christmas. Good because I can get them some items I know a little about, and bad because legos are way cheaper than most of the stuff they want. But my nephews are cool, so I can get them some gifts this year that I know a thing or two about…

Feedburner
By
Mommie | November 15, 2008
Sorry to those who haven’t gotten a feed recently, and then just got a massive feed e-mail. Feedburner was having issues and so was Mommies Home.net. We’ve been fighting hack attempts and we pretty much had to block all of Taiwan from accessing our sight. Of course blocking a country can be detrimental, as Feedburner was going through Taiwan, therefore couldn’t read Mommies Home.net. All is fixed now with that.
Stop attacking Mommies Home.net people, find a different hobbie…

Who Is Going To Be Santa
By
Mommie | November 15, 2008
My mother had that best idea a ways back. She decided to make my father a Santa suit. It was complete with the big belly insert, spectacles and the white hair. All of this was for the grandchildren, who at that time were small enough to fool. What a great idea though, and here’s why…

Kids and Thanksgiving
By
Mommie | November 14, 2008
Thanksgiving wasn’t always one of my favorite holidays. I hated the smell of raw turkey in the morning when I woke up and I remember the excruciating pain of waiting ALL DAY LONG just to eat that dinner that I was dying for by days end. But through the years I definitely have come to love the turkey, the all day in the oven and hate the prepackaged “make my life easier” sides which now seem to accompany most Thanksgiving meals. That being said, how do you get your kids involved in the big Turkey day so it’s something they will treasure for years to come?

How Busy Is Too Busy
By
Mommie | November 14, 2008

Extracurricular activities are shown to benefit your child in numerous different ways. They can increase confidence, actually improve academic performance, improve their social relationships, teach them the value of teamwork and achievement, and the list can go on and on. But when is it to much? When are the effects of over-scheduling your child detrimental?

Teaching Through Art
By
Mommie | November 13, 2008

A new charter school has opened up by us, one that teaches everything to children using art and music. It’s said to be a phenomenal school. That being said, I was wondering how to interest my little ones in more art. Well, we’ll start with our home… Read the rest of this entry »
